August 20, 2020 Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update

This week Warren County is reporting 1,369 cases of Covid-19, with 1,097 recoveries and 158 deaths.  Knowlton has had 12 cases with 11 recoveries. This week the county averaged 3.7 cases per day, which is up slightly from 2.1 last week.  The positivity rate for the past week was 1.5%.  See the charts below for more specific information.
 
From the County:
Governor Murphy has now allocated some federal COVID-19 funds to Warren County. $397,404 has been allotted to reimburse a portion of the $1.6 million the County has spent fighting the pandemic so far.  Another $357,500 will be provided to establish another county-run COVID-19 testing facility and $626,736 to provide testing until June 2021.   Details regarding the testing site will be provided once they are available.

From the State:
Note the following changes to November voting:  Governor Murphy signed Executive Order 177, which creates a modified vote-by-mail system for the November 3rd General Election. The order suspends the sending of sample ballots and requires that each county send ballots with pre-paid postage to all active registered voters for the General Election. Every voter will have the option to either return their ballot through a secure drop box or turn in their ballot at a polling location on Election Day. Any voter who appears at a polling place on the day of the general election and does not return a mail-in ballot shall be given a provisional ballot. 

The Administration is also working to implement a new online voter registration system where New Jersey residents can register to vote. The online system will launch on September 4, 2020.
