[Español abajo] The National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING for the North Bay Area, including all of Santa Rosa from 5 AM Sunday (8/23) to 5 PM Monday (8/24) due to dry lightning and gusty erratic outflow winds over existing wildfires.

WEATHER EVENT DETAILS:

* WIND:  Prevailing winds will be southwest, light in the morning and breezy to locally gusty in the afternoon and evenings. However, erratic gusty outflow winds of 30 to 65 mph may accompany stronger thunderstorms.

* THUNDERSTORMS:  The strongest thunderstorms are anticipated to develop Sunday evening through Monday morning. Additional isolated to scattered dry thunderstorms are forecast to develop over land from early Sunday to late Monday. Weaker isolated storms are possible off the coast as early as Saturday. Dry thunderstorms may become wet as the event progresses.

* IMPACTS:  Lightning will likely spark new fires across the region, including remote areas. Wildfires in remote regions may not become apparent until warmer and drier conditions allow them to grow. Erratic gusty outflow winds may result in dangerous and unpredictable fire behavior. Please report potential fires by calling 9-1-1.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:  A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (NWS, por sus siglas en inglés) ha emitido una ADVERTENCIA DE BANDERA ROJA para el área norte de la bahía, incluyendo todo Santa Rosa desde las 5 AM del domingo hasta las 5 PM del lunes, debido a los relámpagos secos y ráfagas de vientos de salida erráticos sobre los incendios forestales existentes.
 
DETALLES DEL EVENTO CLIMÁTICO:
* VIENTO:  Los vientos predominantes serán del suroeste, ligeros por la mañana y ventosos a ráfagas localmente por la tarde y por la noche. Sin embargo, los vientos erráticos de 30 a 65 mph pueden venir acompañados de tormentas más fuertes.
 
* Tormentas eléctricas:  Se anticipa que las tormentas más fuertes se desarrollarán desde el domingo por la tarde hasta el lunes por la mañana. Se pronostica que se desarrollarán tormentas adicionales aisladas o dispersas en tierra desde la mañana del domingo hasta la tarde del lunes. Tormentas más débiles y aisladas se pueden desarrollar en la costa tan pronto como el sábado. Las tormentas eléctricas secas pueden volverse húmedas a medida que el evento avanza.
 
* IMPACTOS: Los rayos probablemente provocarán nuevos incendios en toda la región, incluyendo áreas remotas.
