On Saturday, August 22, 2020, at about 11:07 PM, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (Sunnyvale DPS) received a report of a major injury accident near the 500 block of Cascade Terrace. Sunnyvale DPS patrol and fire personnel arrived and located a solo vehicle collision with major damage to the vehicle. One of the occupants of the vehicle, a 33 year old male, sustained major injuries from the collision and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The other occupant of the vehicle is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this collision and the cause is currently under investigation.
