On August 23, 2020, at 7:30 p.m., the Kern County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to Lamont Park, at 8304 Segrue Rd, for a report of a shooting. Deputies located a 13 year-old victim, who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Deputies determined an unknown vehicle pulled up to the park and shot the victim, then fled. There is no suspect information at this time. The Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance from the public on this case.
