Very Small Jellyfish Located In Birchwood Lake
The Borough's Lakes Management vendor has advised us that very small jellyfish have been observed in Birchwood Lake.
Dime sized and smaller, these Jellyifsh were most likely brought in on the wet feathers of waterfowl and are able to survive in our lake due to its high aquatic quality. These Jellyfish usually do not impact humans and their presence is not a sign of a larger problem, but rather the result of the warm weather that has been upon us. The population will die off with colder weather.
