Update #3 Evacuation Warning (SCU Lightning Complex Fire) Info for Fremont
Good afternoon Fremont,
This is the daily City of Fremont update for Monday, August 24, 2020. We don’t anticipate additional messages this evening, unless the evacuation warning or local weather significantly changes.
The City of Fremont continues to work on your behalf to ensure you stay safe and are well informed. Staff from the Fremont Fire Department and Police Department continue to attend meetings and briefings daily at the CAL FIRE operations center to stay informed and up to date on the most current information related to the wildfires.
Status Update:
Weather: The Red Flag Warning for the San Francisco Bay Area has been cancelled. While the weather forecast has changed, fires continue to remain active in the region and community members should remain alert, connected to information and be prepared to leave if the situation worsens or if you perceive a fire threat.
Evacuation Warning: As of today, Monday, August 24, 2020, the Evacuation Warning remains in effect for areas of Fremont. The specific area under evacuation warning is available online http://fremont.gov/SCUlightningmap. We have no additional information about how long areas of Fremont will remain in a warning status. Please be patient and understand it is better to err on the side of safety. If asked to evacuate, those Fremont residents in the evacuation zone will be requested to quickly grab their go bags, family members, and domestic pets and head away from the hills using major roadways. It’s important to have a plan in place.
Regional Parks: Mission Peak Preserve remains closed to visitors.
