MERIDIAN POLICE ARREST MAN AFTER STANDOFF
MERIDIAN- At 6:16PM Meridian Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 1700 block of W Claire Drive. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the female victim who reported forty-seven (47) year old Robert Wayne BERRYMAN of Meridian had battered her. The victim stated, BERRYMAN pointed a rifle at her as she fled the residence. A witness corroborated the victim‘s story and stated BERRYMAN pointed the same weapon at them.
BERRYMAN turned off his phone and barricaded himself inside the home. The Ada County Metro SWAT Team responded and attempted negotiations without success. The SWAT Team ultimately made entry into the residence and placed BERRYMAN into custody at approximately 11:30PM.
The Ada County Metro SWAT Team is made up of the Meridian Police Department, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and the Garden City Police Department.
BERRYMAN is under arrest for two (2) counts felony, Aggravated Assault, one (1) count misdemeanor, Domestic Battery and one (1) count misdemeanor, Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer.
