Hurricane Laura
Neighbors,
By now, you should have seen the warnings about Hurricane Laura.
I urge you to closely watch the forecast over the next 48 hours. There is still uncertainty in the projected track of Laura. At minimum, we expect tropical storm force winds in our portion of Harris County and a potential for several inches of rainfall.
We are carefully watching the storm and the warnings and preparing our personnel for emergency situations. Our Swift Water Rescue Team is on stand-by and assets are deployed strategically across Precinct One should they be needed to effect rescues.
Please prepare yourself, your family, pets and property accordingly.
If you have not yet done so, now is the time to ensure you have:
• Gas
• Batteries
• Flashlights
• Battery-powered radio
• Water (1 gallon per person/day for 7 days)
• Non-perishable food (7 day supply)
• Medicines
• First aid kit
• Cash
• Important documents (birth certificates, insurance/bank account information)
• Food, water and medicine for pets
You can view the latest storm information on the Harris County Precinct One Constable Office’s facebook page, on our Twitter page at @pct1constable or by logging on to readyharris.org.
Be safe,
Constable Alan Rosen
