Robbery/Purse Snatch at Pine Ave/Indiana St on August 24, 2020 
On August 24, 2020 at approximately 1:36 pm, ESPD officers received the call of a robbery that just occurred in the 1700 block of E. Pine Avenue.
Officers learned that the victim (a lone woman in her late 60’s) was walking southbound on the west sidewalk of Indiana Street near Pine Avenue when she was attacked from behind by the suspect. The suspect grabbed her purse and a struggle ensued while the victim repeatedly yelled for help. The woman fell to the ground and the suspect was able to get the purse. The suspect ran to the getaway car which was parked on Pine Ave. The car drove away westbound on Pine Ave and turned north (right) onto Illinois St. ESFD Paramedics were called to treat the woman for injuries sustained in the robbery.
The suspect was described as a male Hispanic adult, between 20-30 years old with short black hair. The suspect vehicle is an older model black Mercedes Benz 4 door sedan.
