Following a traffic stop, deputies arrest the passenger in the vehicle and recover a loaded firearm

LOCATION: E. Lynwood Drive / N. Victoria Avenue, San Bernardino
SUSPECT(S): Tarrance Williams, age 18, resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Monday, August 24, 2020, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Deputy Rule from the Sheriff's Central Station, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle violation in the area of E. Lynwood Drive and N. Victoria Avenue. The vehicle was occupied by four subjects. While talking to the subjects, the deputy smelled an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The occupants were asked to exit the vehicle. During a search, the deputy located a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun, containing 14 live ammunition rounds inside the glove compartment. The 9 mm handgun had a high capacity 13-round magazine clip. The front passenger was identified as Tarrance Williams. It was later determined Williams carried and placed the firearm inside the vehicle's glove compartment.
Williams was arrested for the above charges and was booked into Central Detention Center, where he is being held on $25,000 bail.
