Suspect wanted for Attempted Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon
On August 10, 2020 at approximately 10:35 a.m., two men were victims of an apparent violent unprovoked attack by a single suspect. The two men were waiting at the Metrolink Bus Station at 2000 Flotilla St. in the City of Montebello when they were attacked.
The suspect used what was described as a metal flashlight to assault both victims. The suspect also used his right foot to repeatedly stomp on the head of one of victims (approximately ten times), causing major injuries and placing that victim in a coma.
The suspect is described as a male black, approximately six feet tall, thin build, black or dark brown hair, and a black or dark brown beard. The suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt, green pants, brown slip-on shoes or slippers, a pink face covering, and a red beanie. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene of these attacks on foot.
Prior to the attacks, the suspect was captured on surveillance footage as a passenger on a Los Angeles Metro Bus. The suspect entered the bus at the bus stop located at the 1900 block of W. 6th St. in the City of Los Angeles. The Surveillance footage time stamp indicates that the suspect entered the bus at approximately 09:05 a.m. on the day of these apparent unprovoked attacks.
The suspect, depicted in the photos, is wanted for Attempted Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The Montebello Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone who may have witnessed these attacks, saw the suspect on the day of the attacks, or knows the suspect’s identity or whereabouts are asked to contact Montebello Police Detectives.
