Current Initiatives and Updates

  • Celebrate Labor Day at a Distance – As Labor Day nears, you may be tempted to make plans to gather with family members, friends, and neighbors. Manhattan Beach and L.A. County (See County Data Being Monitored) have made significant progress in slowing the spread of COVID-19. We do not want Labor Day Weekend to set us back. Please celebrate safely with only those in your household. Avoid all gatherings, wear your face coverings securely over both your nose and mouth, wash hands frequently, self-isolate if sick, and practice physical distancing guidelines.
  • Locals helping Locals in Downtown Manhattan Beach – Thank you, everyone, for shopping and dining locally in Manhattan Beach. As a reminder, at the request of the Downtown Manhattan Beach retailers, the City changed all street parking meters to the one-hour maximum to increase parking turnover. There are ample parking locations that offer two-plus hours to accommodate extended shopping and dining in the area. Visit the City’s Parking Map for more information on where to park. When possible, walk or bike when going to shop or dine. Just don't forget your face coverings when leaving home!
