Latrisa Ellis of Mentone was arrested for attempted murder after threatening and shooting at her estranged husband

SUSPECT: Latrisa Ellis, 44-year-old, resident of Mentone
VICTIM: 40-year-old male, resident of Highland
SUMMARY:
On August 27, 2020 at 8:56 p.m. deputies form the Highland Sheriff's Station responded to the 27000 Block of Cole Ct. reference a shooting. The suspect, Latrisa Ellis, came to the location and shot at her estranged husband with a semi-automatic handgun after making threatening comments. The victim was not hit by gunfire and no bystanders were injured during the incident. When deputies arrived, they located Ellis inside her vehicle in front of the incident location. Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop and took Ellis into custody without incident. Ellis was found to be in possession of a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a second semi-automatic handgun was located inside her vehicle.
Ellis was arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder.
