Flash Flood Watch until 07:00AM Sunday
The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Arkansas, north central Arkansas, and western Arkansas, including the following areas, in central Arkansas, Conway, Garland, Perry, Pope, and Yell. In north central Arkansas, Baxter, Boone, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Stone, and Van Buren. In western Arkansas, Johnson, Logan, Montgomery, Polk, and Scott.
* From this evening through Sunday morning
* The potential for heavy rainfall in excess of 2 to 3 inches due to widespread and training thunderstorms over western and northwestern Arkansas could pose a flash flooding risk across the watch area Saturday night through Sunday morning.
* The passage of tropical cyclone Laura produced 2 to 4 inches of rain over western Arkansas, with some locally heavier amounts. Additionally a very wet August over western Arkansas has contributed to a saturated soil content, and an increased vulnerability to flash flooding.
* AFFECTED AREAS: BAXTER ... PERRY ... CONWAY ... STONE ... YELL ... LOGAN ... SEARCY ... GARLAND ... SCOTT ... MONTGOMERY ... POPE ... MARION ... JOHNSON ... POLK ... BOONE ... NEWTON ... VAN BUREN
