Illegal marijuana grow located in Dustin Acres
On August 25, 2020, at approximately 8:53 A.M., Kern County Sheriff Deputies from the Taft Substation were patrolling the area of Dustin Acres. Deputies received information from a concerned citizen regarding a possible illegal marijuana grow in the 28000 block of Mustang Avenue. While Deputies were checking the location a subject of interest was located driving in the area and a traffic stop was conducted. During the investigation, it was determined the driver of the vehicle, Javier Osornio-Gallegos, owned the property in question, and was taking care of numerous marijuana plants behind a six to seven-foot-tall plywood fence. A search warrant was obtained for the property and deputies located and seized more than 750 marijuana plants.
Deputies arrested 28-year-old, Javier Osornio-Gallegos for HS 11358 – Cultivation of Marijuana (felony) and various other traffic violations.
