The National Weather Service in Little Rock has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of central Arkansas... eastern Arkansas and north central Arkansas, including the following areas, in central Arkansas, White. In eastern Arkansas, Jackson, Lawrence and Randolph. In north central Arkansas, Baxter, Boone, Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Sharp, Stone and Van Buren.
* Through Thursday morning
* Several rounds of heavy rain are anticipated across much of Arkansas. Significant rainfall from prior days has left soils nearly saturated, meaning the risk for additional flash flooding will be high.
* Widespread flash flood will be possible across the watch area and likely over areas that have already received significant rainfall in the last 24 to 48 hours. This includes high-end, life threatening flash flooding necessitating water rescues. Please heed all future warnings!
