Suspicious Circumstances 
On August 31, 2020, Davis Police officers responded to the report of an unknown person in a white van who allegedly attempted to lure a child into the vehicle.
Officers contacted the parent who stated that at approximately 11:00 a.m. he was walking with his 3 year old son about 20 feet behind him on the south sidewalk of Spafford Street when a van pulled up near his son. The side cargo door to the van was open and a person inside the van attempted to wave the child over to the vehicle. When the father ran toward his son, the vehicle left the area. The vehicle is described as a white Ford van with no windows on the sides occupied by a white male. Because the witness' view was obstructed, there is no further description. The Davis Police Department is investigating the incident and asking anyone who may have information to call (530) 747-5400.
