IMPD Detectives Arrest Man in Overnight Homicide
INCIDENT TYPE: Homicide Arrest
INCIDENT LOCATION: 1909 N. Koehne St.
INDIANAPOLIS - On Thursday, September 3, 2020, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers responded to 1909 N. Koehne St. for a domestic disturbance. As officers were responding the call was updated as a person shot at that location. Officers arrived and located 30-year-old Marquan Lee with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives responded and immediately began their investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
On September 4, 2020 IMPD Homicide detectives arrested 57-year-old Brian Woods for his involvement in the death of Marquan Lee. The Marion County Prosecutors Officer (MCPO) will review the case and make a final charging decision.
