The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill MO has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Jackson County in west central Missouri...

* Until 1030 AM CDT.

* At 715 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Doppler radar. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. This includes the following highways... Interstate 470 between mile markers 13 and 16. Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 12 and 18. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area.
