Sausalito PD Makes Arrest For Assault With Deadly Weapon And Elder Abuse
On Saturday, September 5, 2020, at approximately 5:21 PM, the Sausalito Police Department was dispatched to the area of 3 Gate 5 Road on the report of a physical fight between a man and a woman.
Upon arrival, Officer Bryce Mitchell contacted Jade Unger (a 33-year-old anchor out resident of Richardson Bay) at the intersection of Bridgeway and Ebbtide. Unger, who is on probation in Marin County for trespassing and resisting arrest, matched the description of the female involved in the fight. While Officer Mitchell was speaking to Unger, other Officers located a 73-year-old man lying on the ground at 3 Gate 5 Road bleeding profusely from a wound to his left leg.
Investigation revealed that Unger had been at a storage unit located at 3 Gate 5 Road with her boyfriend and the 73-year-old man. Unger became aggressive and argumentative with her boyfriend, during which time she poured juice on him and sprayed him with shaving cream. Unger then used a canister of pepper spray she was carrying to spray her boyfriend in the eyes. After being sprayed with pepper spray, the boyfriend ran from the area.
After her boyfriend fled, Unger assaulted the 73-year-old man. Unger threw a metal car steering wheel locking device at the man. The device struck him on the back of his left leg causing a deep wound. The 73-year-old man was transported to Marin Health Medical Center by the Southern Marin Fire Protection District where his injury required surgery.
Unger was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse. Additional criminal charges of domestic battery, unlawful use of pepper spray, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violating probation are being requested through the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.
