Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office investigated a single vehicle crash on 09.08.2020 at approx. 0615 Hrs. This crash occurred on US 12 near Worrell Street in Milton Township, Cass County, Michigan. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found the driver of the vehicle to be Eric Sienicki 37 yrs, of Niles, Michigan. Sienicki was eastbound on US-12 when he was having a medical issue and crashed into a utility pole, Sienicki and his passenger Stacy Champagne 41 yrs of Niles, were transported from the scene to South Bend Memorial for treatment of their injuries. Seat belts were worn and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Deputies were assisted on scene by SMCAS Ambulance, Niles TWP Fire/ Niles Police. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
