2 Hurt in Traffic Crash

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office investigated a two vehicle crash on 09-13-2020 at approximately 1839 Hrs. This crash occurred at the intersection of Decatur Rd. and Quaker St. in Penn Township, Cass County, Michigan. The investigation of the crash showed that a vehicle driven by Richard Partridge (27 yrs of Cassopolis, MI) attempted to turn south on Decatur Rd. from Quaker St. and failed to yield right of way to a northbound vehicle being driven by Harold Laird (69 yrs of Kalamazoo). Mr. Partridge was not injured in the crash. Mr. Laird and his passenger Alexandria Lynch (19 yrs of Midland) sustained minor injuries. Mr. Laird and Ms. Lynch were transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. All persons involved in the crash were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor. Assisting on scene were the Cass County Road Commission and PrideCare Ambulance. The crash remains under investigation.
