Potential Flash Flood Warning. SHERIFF VICTOR HILL
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, GA has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of the Metro-area to include Clayton County.
STORM POTENTIAL:
Flash Flood Watch in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Friday morning.
Periods of heavy rainfall are expected across the area with the outer rain bands of Hurricane Sally as it tracks inland west of the area Wednesday and Thursday.
The attached graphic shows expected forecasted rainfall amounts for Clayton County, and below is the National Weather Service’s confidence levels for wind, rainfall, flooding and tornadoes.
Due to recent rain events and saturated soils, flash flooding or river flooding for many areas is expected. Flooding will also continue long after the rain has left the area. Falling trees and downed power lines can be another concern with strong wind gusts.
