MERIDIAN POLICE ARREST MERIDIAN MAN IN SERIES OF THEFTS
On September 14, 2020, at approximately 3:51PM, Meridian Police arrested twenty nine (29) year old Michael PADILLA of Meridian, for one (1) count felony Grand Theft by Possession of Stolen Property and (1) one count felony Probation Violation Warrant. After transporting PADILLA to the Ada County Jail, additional charges of one (1) count felony Introducing Contraband into a Correctional Facility and one (1) count misdemeanor Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia were also added to the charges. The contraband introduced into Ada County Jail is suspected to be heroin.
During the arrest and subsequent search of PADILLA’s residence, stolen items were recovered and connected to additional thefts in Eagle and Meridian ID. These stolen items were from newly constructed, unoccupied homes and valued at approximately $2,300.00.
PADILLA was initially investigated for theft related crimes in Meridian, Canyon County, and Ceres, California. The stolen and recovered property from this ongoing investigation estimates to value approximately $26,863.00. Reports for these cases have been routed to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office for charges to be filed.
