The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Special Victims Bureau is investigating allegations regarding the sexual assault of a child under 10 years of age involving a part-time clown performer for “Payazos Party Supplies” in East Los Angeles. Florentino Gonzalez Penaloza MH/51 suspect.

The suspect performed under the fictitious name, “Ponponio.”  The suspect is the family friend of a 10-year-old female victim.  The victim alleged that between 2016 and 2020, the suspect sexually molested her.  The suspect was arrested on September 6, 2020, for Sex Act with a Child Under 10 Years of Age, 288.7(a) PC. 

He is presently in custody with a bail of $950,000.  The suspect is scheduled for arraignment at the Los Angeles Superior Court Division 30, on September 14, 2020, at 8:30 AM.

Based on the nature of the allegations, along with the suspect’s affiliation with children’s entertainment, detectives believe there may be additional unidentified victims.  Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying any such victims.
