Arrests Involving Firearms:
On Wednesday, September 16th, 2020, at approximately 4:00 PM, Redwood City Street Crimes Suppression Team Detectives initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration in the 1100 block of Veterans Boulevard. Detectives contacted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, who was identified as Jesus Valencia Guerra, a 22 year old male. Detectives conducted a search of the vehicle and located an unregistered semi-automatic .40 caliber handgun and an extended magazine capable of holding 22 .40 caliber rounds.
Valencia Guerra was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for possessing a concealed firearm within a vehicle and possessing an unregistered firearm.
Later that evening at approximately 9:48 PM, Redwood City Street Crimes Suppression Team Detectives contacted a group of juvenile subjects in the 3200 block of Rolison Road. One subject attempted to flee from the detectives by running out of sight only to return moments later. Detectives searched the area where the subject ran and located discarded narcotics, a 9mm semi-automatic firearm and a magazine containing 15 rounds of live ammunition. The subject was identified as a 15-year old juvenile male. The juvenile was booked into the San Mateo County Youth Services Center.
