Last night, an evacuation warning was issued for the residents in the unincorporated community of Juniper Hills. The evacuation warning is for the residents south of Fort Tejon Road, east of 96th Street East, and south of Valyermo Road, west of Bobs Gap Road. In the south, around the foothills communities, the focus will be mopping up and improving the lines to secure the fire in this area. Mopping up is to make a fire safe or reduce residual smoke after the fire has been controlled by extinguishing or removing burning material along or near the control line. Mopping up is a precursor to the containment area being increased, which is great news for the foothill cities including Duarte. Around Mt. Wilson, firefighters will continue to protect developments and push lines towards the north. In the northern portion of the fire, work will continue on the dozer lines that were started last night and firefighters will be scouting for additional opportunities for both indirect and direct firelines north of Highway 2. On the east, an effort will be made to secure lines between Highway 32 and the Ranch2 Fire scar. This is the eighth day of setting records for fuel dryness and this is one of the factors that has been complicating control efforts.

Encanto park field is closed and is being used as an emergency landing zone for rotary aircraft. The park will be used off and on for 24 hours a day to quickly refuel aircraft when spot fires occur near the foothill communities.

Tonight, there will be another virtual community meeting where fire management will provide an update on the Bobcat fire current situation. The meeting will be streamed through multiple platforms including the City of Duarte's YouTube Channel.

Evacuation Orders: An Evacuation Order was issued for residences within the area north of Angeles Crest North and between Clear Creek Station and Hwy 39.
