Deputies are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred Friday night at Baseline Rd/Lillian Lane

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Baseline Road / Lillian Lane, Highland
PARTY ONE: Jorge Ochoa (pedestrian), a 51 year old resident of Highland
PARTY TWO: Joaquin Cruz-Tellez, a 57 year old resident of San Bernardino driving a 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan.
SUMMARY:
On Friday, September 18, 2020, at about 8:42 pm, deputies from the Highland Station responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Baseline Road and Lillian Lane. It was discovered Cruz-Tellez was driving a Toyota minivan westbound on Baseline in the number two lane. At the same time, Ochoa walked north across Baseline from the south curb. The front of the Toyota struck Ochoa in the number two westbound lane. Ochoa was transported to Loma Linda University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. All parties and witnesses of the collision were cooperative with investigators.
