Meridian Arrest Man After Vehicle Pursuit

Meridian Police arrested twenty-four (24) year old Jacob MILLER, of Ammon, Idaho, for one (1) count felony Attempting to Flee or Elude a Police Officer and one (1) count misdemeanor Domestic Battery. MILLER also had one (1) felony probation violation warrant from Department of Corrections.

On Monday, September 21 at 9:13AM, Meridian officers responded to a dispatch call for a domestic violence in progress, outside a business located near the Eagle and Overland intersection. The dispatch call originated from an uninvolved witness. The witness saw the suspect and victim driving away from the scene in a vehicle described as a red Mitsubishi. Meridian officers recognized the described vehicle driving northbound on Locust Grove and Ustick Rd. When officers attempted to make a traffic stop, the suspect failed to yield and accelerated to speeds between 65 and 85 miles per hour, heading eastbound towards Eagle Rd. The suspect then fled northbound to Eagle Rd and Chinden Blvd.

Meridian officers successfully deployed spike strips, slowing the suspect’s speeds in the pursuit to 35 miles per hour. The suspect continued driving towards Meridian Rd and Chinden Blvd, where officers executed a successful Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT). The suspect was quickly apprehended by Meridian officers and transported to Ada County Jail. The female victim was released without charges.
