Nature of Incident: Vehicle vs Pedestrian Traffic Collision

On Wednesday 9/23/20 at approximately 5:53 pm officers responded to the 100 block of W. Santa Barbara Street regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision. Officers arrived and discovered a 16-year-old male had been struck while riding his bicycle. The victim received major injuries and was transported to VCMC where he was reported to be in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperative with investigators. Driver impairment does not appear to be a factor in the traffic collision at this time.
The SPPD is currently investigating with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol. |
