Crime Alert Bulletin for the week of September 14-20, 2020
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Notable Cases
On Monday, 09-14-20 at approximately 4:09 p.m., Officer Fulmore and Officer Moody conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near West Cavour Street and Station Avenue. During their investigation, they found 10 ounces of marijuana, 275 pills of Oxycontin and Vicodin, a loaded 9mm XD Springfield firearm, several EDD (Unemployment) Visa cards, and $18,645 in U.S. currency. They arrested two Fairfield residents, a 20-year old male and a 17-year old male, for firearm-related charges, possession/transportation of narcotics for sales, and possession of the EDD cards.
On Monday 09-14-20 at 11:43 p.m., Officer Graner was on patrol on the unit block of Norwood Avenue and checked on an illegally parked occupied vehicle. When Officer Graner spoke with the subject in the driver’s seat, the officer saw that the subject had bloodshot, watery eyes, and had a mild odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. He also noticed an opened bottle of Hennessy liquor on the floorboard next to the subject’s foot. Officer Jackson responded to assist. Fearing the subject may be operating the vehicle while impaired, Officer Graner asked the subject to exit the vehicle. The subject admitted to having some shots, and Officer Graner asked the subject if he had anything illegal in the vehicle. The subject admitted to having “a little bit of weed”. The officers searched the vehicle and found 17 pounds of marijuana. Officer Graner cited the subject, a 37-year old San Francisco resident, for possession of marijuana for sales.
On Monday, 09-14-20 at 2: 29 p.m., Officer Martin was dispatched to the Boulevard Restaurant regarding a subject loitering in the area who was refusing to leave. The officer told the subject to walk back to the BART station, and as the subject proceeded to walk away, he grabbed a large tree branch. Officer Martin told the subject to put down the branch, but he said the subject continued to walk with the branch, and he began to swing the branch. Officer Martin decided to evaluate the subject for being under the influence, as he did not appear to be able to care for himself. The subject, a 36-year old transient, admitted to using methamphetamine the night prior and that his friend told him he should use heroin. After the officer determined the subject was under the influence, he arrested him and transported him to the jail.
On Thursday, 09-17-20 at 5:53 p.m., Officer McCarthy and Officer Martin conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Serramonte Boulevard and Gellert Boulevard. During their investigation, they found two loaded firearms, including one that was manipulated to be operated in a fully automatic capacity with an extended magazine. They also found marijuana, approximately $3,000 in cash, and two Visa EDD cards, in the names of different people. They arrested two subjects—16 and 17-year old Berkeley residents for the offenses.
On Saturday, 09-19-20 at 5:02 p.m., several officers were dispatched to the area of the Panda Express restaurant on a report of “kids with bikes” involved in an altercation. The dispatchers received a few calls, and one of the callers said a juvenile took off his belt and was assaulting an older male. Officer Abuan and Officer Perdomo arrived first and attempted to take the juvenile subject into custody, but the subject obstructed the investigation and resisted arrest. Officer Perez eventually took the subject, a 14-year old San Francisco resident, into custody and released him to his parent. The victim left before the officers arrived.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
