At 4:21 PM, deputies were dispatched to the report of a shooting in the area of Niles Street and Sterling Road. When they arrived, they located numerous 9MM shell casings, but no suspects or victims were located. Shortly after deputies arrived, they received information the victims had self-transported to Kern Medical for treatment.
Deputies arrived at the hospital and made contact with three male victims who had all sustained gunshot wounds. Two of the victims are adults and one is a 17-year old juvenile. Their injuries range from minor to moderate and are not life-threatening. The victims did not cooperate with the investigation.
The only suspect information revealed, was two Hispanic males in black hoodies. Though the motive is unknown, this shooting is not believed to be related to the recent homicide in the same area at Basham Funeral Home.
