Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office investigated a multiple motorcycle crash on 09/26/2020 at approximately 10:12 hours. This crash occurred on White Temple Rd near Gunther St., Penn Township, Cass County, Michigan. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found the drivers of two motorcycles, Sheldon Ryan Keefer 28 years old from South Bend, IN and Edward Anthony Kieta 59 year old from Niles, MI, had crashed into a deer that ran into the roadway. Kieta was transported by PrideCare to Borgess Lee Memorial for injuries sustained from the crash. Keefer was treated on scene.
Helmets were not worn at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. Assisting in this crash was Michigan State Police, Penn Township Fire Department and PrideCare EMS.
