Thieves taking items from unlocked vehicles, or stealing vehicles with the keys left inside, are some of the leading theft problems in the St. Louis Area. The Frontenac Police Department needs your help in fighting this crime. Nearly all our residential thefts result from unlocked vehicles, often with the keys inside. Vehicles that are left unlocked overnight are an easy target for thieves, and if we make it easy we are only encouraging more thieves to come. Remember to remove keys, key fobs, and all valuables from your vehicle and make sure to lock all vehicle doors. Check to make sure all exterior doors and garage doors are closed and locked properly before turning in for the evening. As a reminder you can set an alarm to sound every night to remember to lock your vehicles.
Notify your police department if you hear or see something suspicious; you should not try and confront these thieves.
