A Red Flag Warning is in effect beginning today at 4 p.m. (Saturday, 10/3) until 6 am Sunday (10/4) for dry conditions and gusty winds above 1000 feet.


The National Weather Service has issued a Red flag Warning late this afternoon and it will remain in effect until 6 am Sunday for dry conditions and gusty winds above 1000 feet.
 
DETAILS

* AFFECTED AREA: North Bay mountains above 1000 feet.

* WIND: Northwest 10 to 25 mph with gusts 25 to 35 mph.

* HUMIDITY:  15 to 25 percent but locally 8-12 percent with little or no nighttime recovery in the hills.

* HIGHEST THREAT: Active portions of the Glass Fire or those areas with unsecured or open fire line.

* IMPACTS: Fire will spread rapidly due to the combination of hot temperatures, very dry fuels, breezy northerly winds and low humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Una Advertencia de Bandera Roja está vigente a partir de hoy a las 4 p.m. (sábado, 10/3) hasta las 6 a.m. del domingo (10/4) por condiciones secas y vientos fuertes por encima de 1,000 pies.
 
El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional ha emitido una Advertencia de Bandera Roja vigente hasta las 6 am del domingo (10/4) por condiciones secas y vientos fuertes por encima de 1,000 pies.
 
DETALLES

* ÁREA AFECTADA: Montañas del Norte de la Bahía por encima de 1,000 pies.

* VIENTO: Noroeste de 10 a 25 mph con ráfagas de 25 a 35 mph.

* HUMEDAD: 15- 25 por ciento, pero localmente 8-12 por ciento con poca o ninguna recuperación nocturna en las colinas.

* AMENAZA MÁS ALTA: Porciones activas del Incendio Glass o aquellas áreas con línea de fuego abierta o no asegurada.

* IMPACTOS: El fuego puede propagarse rápidamente debido a la combinación de temperaturas cálidas, combustibles muy secos, vientos fuertes del norte y poca humedad.

ACCIONES DE PRECAUCIÓN / PREPARACIÓN:Una Advertencia de Bandera Roja significa que las condiciones climáticas críticas de incendio están ocurriendo ahora o lo harán en breve. Una combinación de vientos fuertes  baja humedad relativa y temperaturas cálidas pueden contribuir al comportamiento extremo del fuego.
