Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male Black adult that occurred on the 500 block of S. Ward Ave. in the city of Compton. The incident was reported on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at approximately 12:45 A.M.

Detectives have learned that deputies assigned to Compton Station responded to the location regarding a call of gun shots heard in the area.

Upon their arrival, they located the victim inside of his vehicle, suffering from at least one gun-shot wound to the upper torso.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no known motive or suspect information.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
