Assault suspect arrested. Police seeking to identify the victim.
On Monday, October 5th, 2020, at 12:22 PM, Redwood City Police Officers were dispatched to the area of the 7-Eleven, 1700 Broadway, on a report of an adult male subject who assaulted a random female walking with her children in the area. Officers attempted to locate the female victim who was assaulted but were unable to. Officers detained a 33-year-old male suspect and contacted the reporting party who witnessed the suspect put his hands on the woman’s back and then touch her buttocks over her pants before the woman fled with her children. The reporting party positively identified the suspect at the scene. The suspect was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for a parole violation. Redwood City Police Detectives are seeking to identify the female victim, who has not contacted the police at this time.
