Car Thief Who Enjoyed Stolen Car For Weeks Had Joyride Come To A Halt By SHERIFF VICTOR HILL’S Elite COBRA  Unit!

A man who was spotted driving the same stolen vehicle through Clayton County for over a week was captured this weekend by Sheriff Victor Hill’s elite COBRA Unit.  When members of the elite unit spotted Jermaine Brooks in the stolen black 2018 Acura ILX, they attempted to pulled him over and he refused to stop.  Members of the elite unit performed a pit maneuver to remove Brooks off of the roadway before he became a danger to public safety and took him into custody without incident.

Brooks arrogantly asked Deputies why they pursued him adding his expertise that they are not suppose to pursue suspects in cars.  Brooks was reminded that he was in Clayton County where the Sheriff does not give criminals a free pass to steal innocent hard working citizens cars without consequence.

It must be noted that jurisdictions across the nation who announced that they will no longer pursue suspects once they are inside a vehicle saw a sharp increase in crime. Stolen cars are the transportation use by criminals to rape, rob, and murder.  Therefore it is strategically prudent to make sure that criminals are kept stranded.  To achieve this objective, the Sheriff’s  Office has deployed tactics and devices to end pursuits as quickly and safely as possible. The Sheriff has also ordered his staff to initiate the process of bringing in the latest technology that will make it easier to disable a fleeing vehicle.  This new technology has the potential to end a pursuit before it can get started.

Everyone can help the Sheriff’s Office keep criminals from getting behind the wheels of a vehicle by doing 3 things.  1 Never leave your vehicle running unattended.  2 Do not leave key fobs in vehicles.  And 3 always lock your car doors.   If everyone follow these 3 simple rules, together we can cut car theft more than half.

Meanwhile, Brooks is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail known better as “The Hill-ton”.
