On Saturday, September 26, 2020, at about 6:09 PM, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety received a report of a major injury accident on Tasman Drive east of Fair Oaks Avenue. Sunnyvale DPS patrol and fire personnel arrived and located a single vehicle collision involving two pedestrians. The pedestrians, a 90-year-old female and 12-year-old female, sustained major injuries from the collision and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
On October 7, 2020, the 90-year-old female succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 9:30 PM. The 12-year-old female is expected to survive.
The occupants of the vehicle were not injured as a result of the collision. Alcohol is believed not to be a factor in this collision and the cause is currently under investigation.
