Flood Warning until 01:45PM

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Habersham County in northeastern Georgia...

* Until 145 PM EDT.

* At 759 AM EDT, At 752 AM EDT, streamgages along the Soque and Chattahoochee Rivers were near record high levels after a widespread 4 to 8 inch rainfall event. Significant flooding was lingering early this morning, and high water conditions will be very slow to recede through midday. Drivers are reminded to obey all barricades and avoid all flooded roadways. Residents should also continue to monitor stream and river levels all morning. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Clarkesville, Cornelia, Baldwin, Demorest, Mount Airy, Alto, Lake Burton, Raoul, Batesville and Hollywood.

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
