LOCATION: Seaview Square in Ocean Township
ACCUSED: Kevin B. Vargas 25 year old male of Ocean Township, NJ
NARRATIVE: On October 12th, 2020 at approximately 10:24 am Officer Schulhafer took a report of cyber harassment that was occurring over Instagram and SnapChat. The victim met the accused in person while she was shopping and they continued communicating over these social media platforms. The victim attempted to cease communications with the accused, but he continued to harass her via social media. The accused then showed up at the victim’s place of employment on multiple occasions.
Through his investigation, Detective Walker, was able to positively identify the accused as Kevin B. Vargas. Vargas was interviewed by Detectives Walker and Carter. Vargas was then placed under arrest and charged with Cyber Harassment and Stalking. He was released on a summons pending a future court appearance.
