09/02/2020*Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile (Stolen Vehicle)
9100 Block of Posey Dr - A victim reported that sometime between
10:30 pm on 09/01/2020 and 6:45 am on 09/02/2020 someone removed his Ford F-150 without his permission. The vehicle has been recovered, a suspect identified and the case remains under investigation.

09/02/2020 *Larceny from Autos
200 & 300 Blocks of East Shore – Three complainants reported that sometime between 09/01 from 7:30 pm to 09/02 7:30 am, an unknown subject(s) entered their vehicles and removed property without consent.

300 Block of Lillian Ct – Two victims reported that sometime between 09/01 from 8:30 pm to 09/02 7:30 am, an unknown subject(s) entered their unlocked vehicles and removed property without their consent.

9000 & 9200 Blocks of Posey Ct –Two complainants reported that sometime between 8 pm on 09/01 & 5 pm on 09/02, an unknown subject(s) entered their vehicles and removed property without their consent.

9200 Block of Lake Pine Drive – Two complainants reported that sometime between 09/01 at 8 pm & 09/02 11 am, an unknown subject(s) entered their vehicles, but no property was discovered missing.

Northfield Twp continues to be a safe community in which to live – but we should still be diligent in securing our vehicles. Removing valuables such as computers, wallets and jewelry, and not leaving keys in vehicles will lessen a criminals’ opportunity. Offenders often seek out easy opportunities.
***A suspect involved in the Larcenies and Auto Theft has been arrested, and these cases remain under investigation

09/03/2020 *Arrest -Operating a Motor Vehicle in the Presence of Drugs
Seven Mile & East Shore – Officers responded to a crash and observed evidence and signs of possible narcotic use. The two occupants of the vehicle were transported to U of M for treatment and the driver, a 19 year old, agreed to a blood draw. The vehicle was impounded and the case remains open pending the lab results.

09/04/2020 *Larceny (theft without force)
2000 Block of Nollar – A complainant reported that in February he had placed a lawn mower and snow blower on the property of where he was building a home. In April the homeowner discovered these items missing. No leads or evidence were available at the time the incident was reported.

09/06/2020 *Breaking & Entering Business
6800 Block of Whitmore Lake – At 1 am, Officers responded to a business alarm and discovered that an exterior storage area had been entered and property removed. The manager arrived and confirmed that a lock had been cut and property was missing. Additional, property had been moved in preparation to be taken. Evidence was collected and the case remains open. If anyone, has any information regarding this case, they are asked to contact the Northfield Twp police.

09/09/2020 *Arrest Fugitive Warrant
An Officer received information that a subject was at the station and had an outstanding warrant for violation of his probation. The Officer arrived, took custody of the suspect, and transported the suspect to the Washtenaw County Jail awaiting the jurisdiction holding the warrant..

09/08/2020 *Hit & Run
Whitmore Lake Post Office – A complainant reported that while he was in the post office, a vehicle backed into his parked vehicle causing damage. The responding Officer spoke with witnesses who observed a Grey Chevy passenger vehicle back into the rear of the complainant’s truck. The Chevy was driven by a white female. The case remains under investigation.

09/08/2020 *Larceny from Building
Block of Fairmont – A victim reported that he allowed a subject to temporarily move into his home. The victim since learned the subject may be a con artist who took cash from the victim’s bedroom before quickly moving out. The case remains under investigation.

09/10/2020 *Larceny from Business – Embezzlement
8600 Block of Main St – A complainant reported that when a new manager took over, the manager discovered missing funds. A suspect has been identified and the case remains under investigation.

09/11/2020 *Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card
9200 Block of Main St – A complainant reported that someone attempted to use his credit card numbers to make a purchase. The credit company stopped the transaction and a police report was made for documentation purposes. The complainant did not incur any financial losses at the time of the report.

09/12/2020 *Arrest – Driving while License Suspended
6 Mile & U.S 23 – After making a traffic stop for speed, the Officer discovered the driver was driving on a suspended license. The driver was arrested and his vehicle impounded.

09/12/2020 *Hit & Run – Crash
9800 Block of Main St – A complainant reported that he observed a Red Ford Explorer strike his vehicle and then drive off. A possible suspect has been identified and the case remains under investigation.

09/14/2020 *Arrest Fugitive Warrants
Whitmore Lake & North Territorial – An Officer responded to a suspicious person/situation which had occurred at the Citgo Gas Station. The Officer checked the area and found the subject involved. During the investigation the Officer discovered the subject was wanted on misdemeanor warrants from other jurisdictions. Due to Covid, the subject was released from custody and advised to contact the courts regarding these matters.

09/14/2020 *No Insurance – Vehicle Impounded
Main St & Dartmoor –An Officer observed a vehicle with an expired plate. Confirming the expiration of the plate, it was further discovered that the vehicle was on the roadway without insurance. The following day the owner of the vehicle provided proof of insurance. The case was closed.

09/17/2020 *Suspicious Situation
400 Block of Turquoise – A complainant reported that on 09/17 at 2:40 pm, an unknown subject attempted to sell him laundry detergent and further stated he would attempt to sell a vacuum to the complainants neighbor. The subject gave confusing information and then left the area in an older model Ford Explorer, being driven by a second unknown subject. If anyone has additional information on this incident, please contact Northfield Twp Police.

09/18/2020 *Larceny
7500 Block of Whitmore Lake – A complainant reported that a Thin Blue Line American Flag was taken from the sign in front of the church. Evidence revealed that the incident occurred on September 16 at 9:43pm. If anyone has information regarding this matter they are asked to contact Northfield Twp Police.

09/19/2020 *Disorderly Person
Block of Turquoise – Officers responded to a disorderly unwanted female guest. Officers were able to mediate the situation and assist the female subject in getting a ride. The subject took her belongings and left the scene.

09/20/2020 *Arrest – Driving on a Suspended License
U.S 23 & Barker – An Officer on patrol observed a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, it was revealed that the driver had a suspended driver’s license. The driver was arrested and the vehicle impounded.

09/21/2020 *Larceny from Autos
900 Block of E. North Territorial – A complainant reported that several business trucks parked overnight had been broken into and power tools removed from them. This case remains under investigation.

09/25/2020 *Arrest – Operating While Intoxicated
6 Mile & Main St – An Officer on patrol observed a vehicle with several equipment violations. During the traffic stop the Officer was able to detect signs of intoxication and after further evaluation the driver was arrested and the vehicle impounded. The driver refused to submit to a breathalyzer, so a search warrant was requested and issued for a blood draw. The case remains open awaiting the lab results.

09/25/2020 *Misdemeanor – Driving on a Suspended License
Main St & 8 Mile Rd – An Officer on patrol observed a speeding vehicle. During the traffic stop the driver informed the Officer that he had a suspended license. During confirmation of the suspension, it was revealed that the subject was suspended several times. The license plate was confiscated, the driver cited for driving on the suspended license and the vehicle turned over to the owner.

09/28/2020 *Larceny
9200 Block of Main St – A victim reported that sometime between Sept 13 and Sept 27 someone removed an item from his storage unit and replaced his lock with a new lock. The case remains under investigation.

09/28/2020 *Crash Investigation -
The Northfield Twp Area Library – A complainant reported that she observed a vehicle back into her vehicle and then leave the scene. The Officer was able to locate the striking vehicle. The complainant’s vehicle had minor damage and the complainant did not desire criminal prosecution.

09/29/2020 *Fatal Crash Investigation
8 Mile & McKeon Ct – Officers responded to a single vehicle crash. The vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger was mobile, suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to Providence Hospital. The case remains under investigation.

09/30/2020 *Arrest – Assault & Battery
Barker Rd & U.S 23 – A victim reported that a known subject who was upset with her, punched her and threatened her with a firearm. Officers identified the suspect, obtained both a search and arrest warrant and an arrest was made.
