The National Weather Service in Saint Louis has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from late Saturday morning through early Saturday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Illinois, Fire Weather Zones 058, 059, 060, 064, 065, 069, 070, 074, 079, 097, 098, 099, 100, 101 and 102. In Missouri, Fire Weather Zones 026, 027, 034, 035, 036, 041, 042, 047, 048, 049, 050, 051, 052, 059, 060, 061, 062, 063, 064, 065, 072, 073, 074, 075, 083, 084, 085 and 099.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...South 15 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 to 25 percent.
* 10 HOUR FUELS...Less than 9 percent.
* IMPACTS...These conditions are conducive for the rapid spread and growth of uncontrolled wildfires.
