SUBJECT: Argument Leads to Weapons Charges

LOCATION: West Park Avenue in Ocean Township
ACCUSED: Shentang Chen 40 year old male of Brooklyn, NY
NARRATIVE: On October 14th, 2020 Officers Polanco and Martone were dispatched to a business in Cobbletone Village for a report of a verbal dispute between two subjects where one of the subjects threatened the other with a knife. The accused subject was identified as Shentang Chen of Brooklyn, NY. On scene investigation revealed that the victim and Mr. Chen were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Mr. Chen then picked up a knife and threatened the victim with it. Mr. Chen was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Mr. Chen was charged with Terroristic Threats, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He was processed and released on a criminal summons pending a future court appearance.
