MEDIA INVITED TO THE UNVEILING OF MERIDIAN'S DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS PATROL CAR
 
MERIDIAN- Members of the media are invited to attend the unveiling of Meridian’s first ever, Domestic Violence Awareness patrol vehicle.
 
WHEN: Thursday, October 22, 2020, 12:30-1:00PM.

WHO: Meridian Police Chief Jeff A. Lavey; Meridian Mayor Robert Simison; Meridian Victim Witness Coordinator Cathi Gonzalez; Meridian Victim Witness Coordinator Deb Mersch; Meridian Detective Steve Hansen.
 
WHAT: For the first time, Meridian Police have wrapped a patrol vehicle in a unique design that focuses on Domestic Violence Awareness. The Meridian Police Department, Women’s Children Alliance (WCA) Faces of Hope Foundation (FACES), along with the Ada County and Boise City Prosecutor’s Offices, work together to help victims of domestic abuse. On October 22, Meridian Police Department and these key community partners will together celebrate the unveiling of the Meridian Police Department’s Domestic Violence Awareness patrol car.

ABOUT WCA:
The Women’s & Children’s Alliance provides safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault. The WCA operates secure shelters and provides professional counseling, legal advocacy, crisis services and case management to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Faces of Hope Victim Center is a warm and welcoming place, where people affected by interpersonal violence can come and receive help, with no judgement, no strings, no wait lists, and no fees. Through one door, our specialized multi-disciplinary team wraps around an individual or family, and provides crisis-intervention services to stabilize them.
