WEAPON VIOLATION UPDATE

On October 16, 2020 at 10:10 PM, the Middleton Police Department was dispatched to a stabbing that had occurred at 2128 Allen Boulevard. Responding officers located the victim, an adult male, in the parking lot with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses were able to describe the vehicle that the suspect left in and this information was relayed to area law enforcement.

Minutes after the incident, a Town of Madison Police Officer spotted the possible suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop without incident. Evidence at the scene tied the lone occupant of the vehicle to the Middleton stabbing. The driver was identified as Eddie Monroe, 35, of Madison. He was subsequently arrested for Second-degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and booked into the Dane County Jail.

This remains an active investigation. Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive up to $1,000 in cash rewards for tips that lead to an arrest, and can remain anonymous.

Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
