RX Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, October 24th
Clean it out and drop it off ! National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is this Saturday, October 24th. RX Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of your unused or expired prescription drugs. Old and unused prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse. Pharmaceutical drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or a doctor’s supervision.
Last Fall, nearly 883,000 pounds of unused or expired medications were collected nationwide. Take-Back events began in 2010 and over the past 10 years the DEA has collected 6,350 tons of unwanted drugs.
The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. We will be following COVID-19 safety protocols of social distancing and face coverings.
You can drop off pills and patches at either of our stations between 10 am and 2 pm on the 24th. Please note that we are unable to accept liquids, needles, or sharps. Our Larkspur station is located at 250 Doherty Drive and our San Anselmo station is at 525 San Anselmo Avenue.
