The Department of Transportation, in cooperation with QAP, is working on the Parks Highway Phase 3 project between Pittman and Big Lake Road. - Starting Tuesday, 10/20/2020, at 9am the project will begin paving operations for the temporary detour at the Parks Highway / Big Lake Road intersection. Depending on weather and production, paving the detour is expected to take 3-4 days. The overnight temperatures are too cold so this work will need to be completed on day shift. Expect longer delays at the intersection due to asphalt cooling times. If possible, please use an alternate route. - The Parks Highway / Big Lake Road intersection is currently a gravel driving surface. Please be alert and travel the short pavement break with caution. - The project continues to work double shifts. Be alert to workers and equipment, both day and night, in and around the Parks Highway / Big Lake Road Intersection. - Please be alert to a reduced speed limit (45 MPH) between Johnson Road and Hawk Lane on the Parks Highway. - The project team will make every effort to keep the stop delays at the Parks / Big Lake Road Intersection to a minimum. Your patience is appreciated as we continue our efforts to complete a few project milestones prior to winter shutdown.
