The Westfield Police Department advises residents to be aware of the following activities that will have an anticipated impact on traffic and parking this weekend.

We have been informed that a Trump Truck Parade is expected to come through Westfield on Saturday, October 24 with a large number of vehicles. The route communicated by the organizers indicates three different passes through Westfield, which will include Springfield Avenue to East Broad Street, Central Avenue, and North Avenue into Garwood; from Garwood to South Avenue and Central Avenue into Clark; and finally from Rahway Avenue to Lamberts Mill Road and onto Raritan Road in Scotch Plains. Residents are asked to anticipate traffic, congestion, and delays in these areas from approximately 10:00AM until 12:00PM, although exact timing is unknown and subject to change. The Westfield Police Department does not anticipate closing any roads, and will have officers in the area to facilitate the flow of traffic and minimize inconvenience.

In addition, as part of this year's AddamsFest, the Tamaques Haunted Trail will be held this weekend, which will require some parking and access modifications in the park in order to safely set up the equipment for the events.

• From Friday morning through 1:00PM on Saturday, entry to Tamaques Park is via Dickson Drive only, exiting on Lamberts Mill. Although any Friday or Saturday morning sports will continue as scheduled, those attending should plan accordingly, as parking will be limited to the main lot near the tennis courts. Sports scheduled for after 1:00PM in Tamaques have been moved or rescheduled as communicated by the individual leagues.

 

• From 1:00PM Saturday until Monday morning, the park will be closed entirely, except for those attending the Haunted Trail events.
