Advisory

Curfew 8:00PM 10.28.-10.31.20 / Trick or Treating 10.31.20 2:00PM-7:00PM

The Pine Hill Police Department would like to remind residents that curfew will be earlier on October 28 thru October 31 due to Halloween.

Curfew will be 8:00 PM – 6:00AM October 28th – 31st for anyone under the age of 18 that is not accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult person having custody, care or control of the juvenile. (Resolution 2020-145)

Trick-or-Treating will be from 2:00PM – 7:00PM on Saturday, October 31, 2020.

For those who do not wish to participate in Halloween Trick-or-Treating please place a sign in a highly visible location advising there will be no Trick-or-Treating at that residence.

No one should participate in Halloween activities if they or a household member have a known exposure to COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and have not yet met the criteria for discontinuing isolation or were told to quarantine.

In addition to the precautions taken during normal Halloween festivities and Trick-or-Treating, the NJ Department of Health strongly encourages the following COVID-19 related precautions;

  • Everyone wear a facemask covering both your nose and mouth, Costume masks do not meet the necessary level of protection.
  • Hold all Halloween activities outdoors and follow all limits on indoor and outdoor gatherings at the time.
  • Those trick-or-treating should limit their groups to household members, stay local, and limit the number of houses on their route.
For those putting out treats:
  • Instead of placing treats directly in the bags of trick-or-treaters or filling communal bowls that multiple hands reach into, individually packaged candy should be arranged in a way that they can be easily grabbed without multiple pieces being touched.
  • You can also leave a treat bowl on a porch or table or in a place where it may be easily accessed while adhering to social distancing requirements.
  • If you are handing out candy, please limit interaction or contact with trick-or-treaters, wear a face covering when individuals come to the door, and regularly wash hands.
  • Any candy given out should be commercially packaged and non-perishable.
The Pine Hill Police Department encourages safety and supervision during the annual Trick-or-Treat season, especially now with the additional COVID-19 precautions.  Below are a few additional safety tips for parents to help ensure a safe and fun Halloween.
